
Bridging the Gaps: Working Together for Healthy Aging
TFA is excited to announce the 2022 TFA Conference: Bridging the Gaps: Working Together for Healthy Aging will be October 25-27 at the Music Road Convention Center in Pigeon Forge.
This conference would not be possible without our AMAZING partners! The networking made possible through this event keeps our partners coming back year after year. Our conference brings together over 200 members of the aging network including, but not limited to, Senior Center Directors & Staff, Older Adults and Family Caregivers, Nutrition Site Managers, Area Agency on Aging & Disability Directors and Staff, Social Workers, Home and Community Based Program Staff, Long-Term Care Facilities, Human Resource Agency staff, Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Public Guardians, Legal Services/Elder Law Attorneys, Family Caregivers, Alzheimer’s organizations, Behavioral Health agencies, state agencies, faith-based organizations, and many more.
TFA Conference Partnership Levels include:
DIAMOND LEVEL Major Partnership - $10,000:
PLATINUM LEVEL Major Partnership - $5,000:
GOLD LEVEL Partnership- $2,500:
SILVER LEVEL Partnership - $1,000:

TFA Conference Awards!
Each year at the TFA Annual Conference we want to recognize the outstanding people and programs who help support older adults across the state. We are seeking nominations for the three award categories given at our Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, October 26th. The award categories are as follows:
Aging Innovation Award (1 Award per Grand Division given)
Project/Program must have met 1 or more of the following criteria:
- Recognized in the community (by the mayor, commissioners, clubs, etc.)
- Established new partnerships
- Offered new/different service or program within the last year
- Improved the lives of older adults in the community
Mrs. Clint (Lena Mae) Pickens Volunteer Award (1 Award given)
- Must have provided volunteer services to, or on behalf of, Older Adults
Legislative Aging Champion Award (A Minimum of 1 Award per Grand Division given)
- Current State Legislator or Team of Legislators who advocates for Older Adult issues

TFA and Amerigroup Agree to Fund New Local Memory Café Locations!
The Tennessee Federation for the Aging (TFA) in partnership with Amerigroup TN is offering a new grant program in 2021 to create Memory Café programs in each Grand Division. With financial support from Amerigroup, TFA is providing grants to three local organizations to begin Memory Café activities.
This year's recipients are:
West Tennessee Region - Martin Gateway Center in Martin.
Middle Tennessee Region - Alzheimer’s TN-Cumberlands partnering with the Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Disability.
East Tennessee Region - Alzheimer’s Tennessee-East
Memory Cafés offer people with dementia and their care partners the opportunity to enjoy regular, enjoyable social interaction with others in similar circumstances in a safe, welcoming environment. Memory Cafés share the commitment to offering hospitality, interesting and engaging programs and information about dementia and appropriate resources.
Each organization receiving a Memory Café grant plans to begin activities in June.
