About Mr. Dan Porter
Mr. Porter is from Parsons Tennessee.  Dan volunteers at the local Senior Center, doing all kinds of work from serving meals, driving the bus, painting, carpenter work, electrical work and more.  He also volunteers to help at this church as well as throughout the community.  He is a retired electrician and helps elderly in the community with all kinds of things around their homes whether it's electrical, plumbing (even crawling under houses in freezing weather to find leaks) or even taking them to Nashville for doctor's visits in his own car.  Anything he can do to be helpful, he does it.  He has been a blessing to many people.  There's not much he won't try to do to help someone out, especially the elderly or those who are less fortunate.  He never accepts payment for any of the things he does.  He's a true volunteer.  He definitely deserves recognition for all he does for the people of Decatur County (especially the elderly).

Thank you to the TFA 2018 Legislative Aging Champion Award Recipient!

Representative Kelly T. Keisling
Picture
Representative Keisling is a long-standing proponent of elder issues – especially the well-being and legal protection of Tennessee seniors who are vulnerable to being abused and exploited.  He has strongly supported the latest laws and updates that are changing the elder abuse landscape in new and positive ways.  His primary sponsorship of House Bill 810, which became Public Chapter 466, supported the passage of the “Elderly and Vulnerable Adult Protection Act”, amending language for Criminal Offenses against seniors and vulnerable adults.
As a champion of these issues, Representative Keisling speaks and advocates from the heart.  He has always made himself available to speak and discuss elder abuse issues and related resolutions, and readily recruits other legislators to support legislative change to improve the lives of Tennessee seniors.  Representative Keisling strongly supports the concerns older adults in Tennessee have, through legislative action and a successful solution-oriented personal approach.  His ongoing position on fighting the financial exploitation of seniors, and follow-through with legislative action, sets the example of excellent leadership that has benefited now and will continue to benefit seniors in the years to come.

Congratulations to the 2018
